JBRIT paper about Blyxa aubertii
This a a figure from a small note I published with my mentor, Mac Alford. I found this plant (Blyxa aubertii) while kayaking a lake in Wayne County, Mississippi. It was unknown for the state so we did some surveying and found it in four other counties. It turns out that this thing only grows in artificial lakes. A little historical research revealed that the earliest of these reservoirs was built in the 1940s, giving us a good idea of the earliest this plant may have been introduced.
